The Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting registrations for the 2026 Youth Winter Basketball program beginning Monday, October 13 through Friday, November 21. The program teaches basketball fundamentals, such as dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork.
The league is open to boys and girls ages 8-16 years (between 2nd and 12th grade) in five age-appropriate divisions. The season will begin on Monday, December 15 and will consist of 14 weeks of practice and approximately 10 league games.
All practices and games will be held at either the Pico Park or Rivera Park gymnasiums. Practice days, times and locations will be determined by volunteer coaches, with game locations to be determined by the league coordinator.
Registration fees are $85 per child and will be accepted at Rivera Park during regular business hours, and online at picoriveraca.myrec.com. A copy of the participant’s birth certificate is required at the time of registration.
